Product Description

Remmers Funcosil AS 30 liters is a solvent-based, water-repellent facade impregnation based on siloxane/acrylate. The product enhances the color of mineral substrates and provides light strengthening for powdering or sandy surfaces. Funcosil AS penetrates deeply into porous materials such as brick, sand-lime brick, paving stones, and exposed aggregate concrete, providing long-lasting protection against moisture, dirt, and driving rain.

The product is suitable for both renovation and new construction and can also be used as a primer for surfaces that will later be finished with products such as Remmers Betonacryl.

Properties

Consumption

• Old brick: 0.5–1.0 l/m²

• Old paving stones: 0.2–0.5 l/m²

• Exposed aggregate concrete: 0.25 l/m²

• Plaster layers as primer: 0.5 l/m²

• Aerated concrete as primer: 0.5 l/m²

• Interior sand-lime brick: ≥ 0.5 l/m²

Note: Always test the exact consumption on a trial area of 1–2 m².

Application

1. Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust.

2. Repair any cracks, defective joints, or moisture issues in advance.

3. Apply the impregnation without pressure, by flow or low-pressure spray, until fully saturated (30–50 cm liquid film).

4. Work horizontally from top to bottom and treat immediately with a block brush or regular brush.

5. Repeat wet-on-wet applications until no further absorption is visible.

6. Small or hard-to-reach areas can be treated with a brush or roller.

7. Protect newly impregnated surfaces from rain for at least 5 hours; avoid wind and direct sunlight.

8. Remove excess product indoors within 1 hour using Thinner V101.

Application temperature: +10°C to +25°C. Lower temperatures slow curing; in strong sunlight, cover facades to prevent rapid drying.

General Information

Funcosil AS provides preventive protection against moisture, frost, and de-icing salts without affecting the vapor permeability of mineral materials. It reduces microorganism growth and can be used as a dirt-repellent sealer for interior walls in schools, sports halls, and public buildings.

As a water-repellent and color-enhancing facade impregnation, Funcosil AS is ideal for all mineral substrates, including brick, sand-lime brick, paving stones, and concrete. It stabilizes powdering surfaces and can be used as a primer for further finishing.
