Remmers Funcosil SE is a cost-effective, water-repellent facade impregnation for porous mineral surfaces. It provides long-lasting protection against moisture, rain, and weathering while keeping the surface breathable. Funcosil SE is the more affordable variant of Funcosil WS, with a slightly lower active ingredient content, yet still delivers reliable protection for both new construction and renovation projects.

Applications

Funcosil SE is suitable for a wide range of porous mineral surfaces, including sand-lime brick, natural stone, brick masonry, mineral plaster layers, aerated concrete, and mineral wall paints. It is particularly effective for refreshing old, weathered, or previously water-repellent facades, extending the effect of prior treatments.

Application

Apply Funcosil SE with a high-pressure flow pump and wide spray nozzle, creating a 30–50 cm liquid film across the facade. Move the nozzle along the wall and lightly smooth with a soft broom or brush. Apply wet-on-wet from top to bottom, treating continuous sections without interruption.

For smaller or complex areas, use a brush and dip regularly in the product to ensure complete coverage. Protect the facade from rain for at least 5 hours. Avoid strong wind or direct sunlight, as this can reduce penetration depth. Funcosil SE can also be applied to slightly damp surfaces.

Application Temperature

• Apply at +10°C to +25°C

• Avoid overheating the substrate

• At temperatures below +10°C, water evaporates slowly; full water-repellent effect develops within 1–2 weeks

• Smooth sand-lime brick: min. 0.5 L

• Broken sand-lime brick: min. 0.7 L

• Brick masonry: min. 0.8 L

• Very porous brick: min. 1.5 L

• Aerated concrete: min. 1.0 L

• Fine porous natural stone: min. 0.8 L

• Very porous natural stone: min. 1.5 L

Actual consumption depends on the porosity of the substrate and the application method.
