Product Description

Remmers Funcosil SL 30 liters is a colorless impregnation based on silane/siloxane, specifically designed for mineral building materials, particularly lime-containing natural stone such as sand-lime brick. The product penetrates deeply and provides effective protection against moisture, rain, and dirt without altering the natural appearance of the stone.

Applications

Funcosil SL is ideal for:

• Protecting façades from rain and moisture

• Reducing dirt, algae, and moss formation

• Impregnating lime-containing stones and other mineral materials

Not suitable for: solvent-sensitive materials such as polystyrene or bitumen. Non-absorbing surfaces like polished stones or fine crystalline marble are also unsuitable; absorption is essential for optimal performance.

Consumption

• Fine-porous natural stone: 0.2–0.5 l/m²

• Coarse-porous natural stone: 0.4–1.5 l/m²

Always test the exact consumption on a 1–2 m² test area before treating the entire surface.

Application Instructions

1. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and dust-free; remove residues from cleaning agents.

2. Repair cracks, damage, or faulty joints beforehand.

3. Apply the product without pressure by flowing or with a low-pressure sprayer; avoid misting.

4. Apply a 30–50 cm liquid film and immediately work in with a block brush.

5. Repeat the treatment multiple times (at least twice) wet-on-wet until no further absorption is visible.

6. Protect adjacent surfaces and materials from rain, wind, sun, and condensation.

7. Remove excess product within 1 hour using Dilution V 101.

Application conditions: material, ambient, and substrate temperatures between +10°C and +25°C.
