Remmers Funcosil SL Alc is a high-quality, colourless water-repellent impregnation based on silane/siloxane technology. It has been specifically developed for porous mineral substrates and situations involving solvent-sensitive materials such as EPS insulation systems or bituminous components.
Thanks to the use of alcohol (ethanol) as a carrier, the product penetrates deeply into the substrate without causing damage. This ensures long-term protection against moisture, dirt and weathering.
The facade remains cleaner for longer, absorbs less water and retains its insulating performance.
Suitable substrates
Funcosil SL Alc is ideal for mineral, porous and sensitive surfaces, such as:
- Limestone (highly suitable)
- Calcium silicate brick (smooth and rough)
- Concrete and lightweight concrete
- Brick and masonry (fine and coarse porous)

- Aerated concrete / cellular concrete

Why alcohol as a carrier?
Funcosil SL Alc uses water-free ethanol as a carrier, offering key advantages:

Technical information
Funcosil SL Alc is a reactive silane/siloxane solution with approx. 7% active content. After application, it forms a durable water-repellent zone without affecting vapour permeability.

Application
- Apply using low-pressure spray or brush

- Substrate must be clean, dry and dust-free

- Calcium silicate brick (rough): approx. 0.7 l/m² (± 43 m²)

- Brick (fine porous): approx. 0.8 l/m² (± 37 m²)
- Plaster: approx. 0.5 l/m² (± 60 m²)
- Insulation render: approx. 0.6 l/m² (± 50 m²)
- Aerated concrete: approx. 1.0 l/m² (± 30 m²)
- Lightweight concrete: approx. 1.0 l/m² (± 30 m²)
- Fibre cement: approx. 0.3 l/m² (± 100 m²)
- Natural stone (fine): approx. 0.2 – 0.5 l/m² (± 60 – 150 m²)
- Natural stone (coarse): approx. 0.4 – 1.5 l/m² (± 20 – 75 m²)
