Remmers Funcosil SN is a colorless, water-repellent facade impregnation based on silane/siloxane, specially developed for solvent-sensitive building materials and connection zones. The product penetrates deeply into porous mineral substrates and provides durable, water-repellent protection against moisture, rain, and dirt. Funcosil SN maintains the vapor permeability of the material and is safe to use with solvent-sensitive materials such as polystyrene (insulation boards) or bitumen.

Funcosil SN is suitable for water-repellent treatment of various porous mineral building materials:

• Sand-lime brick (smooth or rough/broken)

• Fiber cement

The product is ideal for renovation or protection of old, weathered facades and is often applied where solvent-sensitive materials are present, such as cavity insulation or styropor finishes.

Application Tips

• Substrate must be clean, dust-free, and dry

• Apply Funcosil SN without pressure by flowing, creating a 30–50 cm liquid film

• Immediately work over with a block brush from top to bottom; repeat until no further absorption occurs

• For hard-to-reach areas, use a well-saturated brush

• Protect freshly treated surfaces from rain, wind, and sun for at least 5 hours

• Smooth sand-lime brick: min. 0.5 L

• Rough/broken sand-lime brick: min. 0.7 L

• Fiber cement: min. 0.3 L

• Fine porous brick masonry: min. 0.8 L

• Plaster layer: min. 0.5 L

• Insulation plaster: min. 0.6 L

• Aerated concrete: min. 1.0 L

Actual consumption depends on the porosity of the substrate and application method. Always test a trial area first.
